Jag läste bland teorierna på Wotmania och hitta en där som tog upp ämnet om vem som kommer att blir Manetherens kung, Mat eller Perrin (själv hoppas jag att det blir Mat), så här löd teorin:
Let me try this. What is the importance of Two Rivers/Emond's Field? (i.e. Aemon's Field) What is the importance of the resurgence of Manetheren through The Band of the Red Hand, (traveling with the "rebel" Aes Sedai) and the raising of The Red Eagle banner again? The Band of the Red Hand were a courageous group of soldiers who were the last to perish defending Manetheren and King Aemon.
"The unstained Tower breaks and bends knee to the forgotten sign"
I'd like to submit that Egwene represents that forgotten sign. The Red Eagle of Manetheren.
Egwene... now Amyrlin of the rebels, from Emond's Field (the heart of ancient Manetheren) leading a seige on the White Tower; with The Band of the Red Hand (famous warriors from the last stand of Aemon and Manetheren against the Shadow)whom will eventually be led again by Mat, during the seige. I'm aware that Perrin currently raises the Manetheren banner, but Mat has been known to scream in the Old Tongue, "For the honor of The Red Eagle. For the honor of Manetheren." Could he not raise The Red Eagle himself. If Egwene's seige is successful(which would take rooting out the Darkfriends from the inside of the Tower...including Mesaana), and she assumes the Amyrlin's duties for a united Tower, then would not the White Tower (now "unstained"... united and sans DFs) bow to Egwene from newly ressurected Manetheren? Mantheren has been mentioned as a forgotten country with a forgotten sign. I'll have to read the series again, to know who and when. I'm thinking it was Lan or Moraine in Eye of the World. (shortly after Mat began speaking Old Tongue upon being surrounded by Trollocs)
Also the fact that Rand, Egwene, Mat, Perrin, and Nynaeve come from Emond's field (once again: the heart of ancient Manetheren) sway me to believe in the importance of Manetheren's resurgence. Look at the changes that have taken place in all of Two Rivers, let alone Emond's Field, since Perrin's stand in The Shadow Rising. What better way to magnify that importance than to have an Amyrlin from their, and for the world, especially The White Tower acknowledge such.
