How do you feel about the idea that installing PVC windows is a kind of 'social status', not just practicality? What does this say about our society?

It's cool to hear different opinions, but I have a slightly different view. Everything has changed since I installed new windows, but I wonder if anyone knows where can I buy high-quality PVC windows? I want there to be no sounds from the street in the apartment!
